Day 23 : Believe In Yourself (Or Find Friends Who Do!)
From the time I experienced my first Reiki healing, I had set my mind to become a Reiki practitioner—convinced by this beautiful energy healing modality and the benefits it brings. Yet, I was never entirely convinced that I would make a good ‘healer’ myself. Deep down, there were always doubts about my ability to connect to the metaphysical side, always fears that I would not be able to provide value-for-money benefits to people. I wasn’t intuitive enough, I wasn’t spiritual enough, I haven’t practiced long enough, I don’t know enough, I wasn’t good enough, there are better qualified healers out there, who am I to think I can be a healer… the list went on.
One day, I shared all these with Vanessa and Teresa who just listened and then encouraged me to be confident about what I had to offer to the world. “Just keep practicing. You will become better and more intuitive with it. And if you don’t mind, you can practice on us!” And with that, they became my willing ‘clients’, sharing precious feedback about their sessions that gave me so much encouragement and confidence.
Sometimes, all we need is someone who believes in us, to encourage us to believe in ourselves. Likewise, you never know how much it means to others when you do the same for them.
